Welcome.....

Welcome to the Official web site of Boy Scout Troop 628, Delevan-Machias, New York. Our Troop was formed in the year 2000 by several adults and started with just a handful of Scouts. Today, we have over 30 active Scouts along with numerous adult leaders and active parents.

Our Troop is a very active as we participate in at least one campout or event a month. We are also very active in the community, as we participate in several parades and community events throughout the year.

Our Troop meets every Monday from 7 PM until 9 PM at our Delevan Scout Building (old St. Pius Church) on North Main Street in the Village of Delevan. If you would like to learn more about our Troop, please feel free to stop by one of our meetings or you can e-mail us at information@troop628bsa.com.

Troop 628 Annual Christmas Tree Sale

Our Troop Annual Christmas Tree sale was a great success this year. Thank you to everyone who came out to visit and purchase a tree.

Troop 628 appreciates your continued support of our Troop and Scouting.

We hope that you and your family had a great Christmas and we wish you the best of luck in the year 2012.

Medina Campout

On October 21 members of Troop 628 traveled to Medina, NY and set up camp in a local park. After spending a cool night tent camping, the Scouts traveled 45 minutes by train to Lockport and participated in a 25 mile bike ride back to Medina. The bike ride followed the historic Erie Canal and was a part of the Scouts earning their Bicycling Merit Badge. The Scouts previously completed a 50 mile bike ride in the spring, also a part of the Merit Badge.

Scouting for Food

On Saturday, October 29, the Scouts from Troop 628 went door-to-door in the Machias area collecting food for the Machias Food Pantry. The Scouts previously handed out leaflets to residents describing the Scouting for Food program and asking them to donate items for collection. Thanks to the residents of Machias and Lime Lake for once again making this program a great success!!!
