Welcome......
Welcome to the official Web Site of Boy Scout Troop 628 from Delevan-Machias, New York. Our Troop was formed in the year 2000 with just a handful of Scouts. Today, our Troop has over 20 active Boy Scouts and numerous adult Leaders. Our adult leaders have numerous years of Scouting experience and several of our leaders have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout (the highest rank in Boy Scouts).
Our Troop is a very active Troop as we participate in many community events throughout the year. We also participate in at least one monthly camping trip, or day trip, per month.
Our Troop meets on Monday evenings at the Delevan Scout Building located on North Main Street ( across from the Yellow Goose Market) in the Village of Delevan. Our meetings begin at 7 PM and end at 8:30 PM. Please feel free to stop at any of our meetings to learn more about our Troop.
Troop 628 Annual Pancake Breakfast
Thanks to everyone who helped make our Pancake Breakfast a over-whelming success!! We started a little slow, but by 9:30 AM the line was already out the door and we stayed busy right up until closing time.
We are still waiting for the official numbers, but it appears that this may be our biggest breakfast yet. A big "Thank You" to Moore's for keeping the pancakes flowing and for helping us out throughout the whole day. Thanks again to everyone......Hope to see ya next year!!

Troop 628 visits the Town of Franklinville Court
On Monday, April 9th, nineteen Scouts from Troop 628 traveled to the Town of Franklinville Justice Court to learn more about our local court system. This trip also is a requirement for a Merit Badge that the Scouts are currently working on.
The Scouts were greeted at the door by Court Officer Chase, who immediately issued an Appearance Ticket ( fake of course) to our Scoutmaster Mr. Smith. After the serving of the ticket, Officer Chase performed the screening of all of the Scout and Leaders. This included walking through a metal detector before they could be allowed to enter the Court room.
Once inside the Court room the Scouts were introduced to Judge Wayne Holden and Judge Larry Graham. Judge Holden then called a case up the stand, the case of "The People vs. Scoutmaster Troop 628". An arraignment was then conducted which allowed the Scouts to view the criminal court process in a controlled situation.
After the arraignment, Judge Holden then explained the whole arraignment process and the type of cases that may be heard in the local court. The Scouts were then able to sit in on several "real cases" in the open court room.
Thanks to Judge Holden, Judge Graham, Court Officer Chase and the Court Clerks for making our trip a great success.
